Governance
The Organization of Regulatory and Clinical Associates is a 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation that was incorporated in Washington State in 1995. ORCA is governed by its Board of Directors and working rules for its governance are contained in the ORCA Bylaws. The Board of Directors currently consists of seven members elected by the members of ORCA. Directors typically serve for a term of two years and may serve for a maximum of six consecutive years. The Board of Directors is divided into two groups; Group A has four members and Group B has three members. Beginning with the 2012 annual meeting and thereafter, one group of directors will be elected by the members each year, generally at the ORCA annual meeting in September.
The officers of ORCA are elected by the Board of Directors and serve for a term of one year. Typically, there are three officers: President; Secretary and Treasurer. Each director who is not an officer generally has responsibility for a designated activity of importance to ORCA's operations. This may include development of the educational program calendar, supporting meeting preparations, and coordinating the support of volunteers to assist with a range of ORCA activities, to name a few.

The current Group A term expires 9/2024. The current Group B term expires 9/2025.

No member of the Board of Directors or any officer receives any compensation for her or his services, although a director or officer may be reimbursed for business expenses incurred on behalf of ORCA.
VOLUNTEERS
Volunteers are vital to ORCA’s success. Volunteers assist ORCA with its monthly programs, plan those programs and solicit speakers, develop and implement marketing efforts and membership drives, serve on its Board of Directors, and provide a wide range of volunteer services that help make ORCA a meaningful and useful resource for its members.
