TOPIC: Current and Future uses of AI and ChatGPT in Health Care

“Have we gotten to a 'smart' computer for healthcare?”

We will remember the moment when computers got smart. Are we at that moment? Progress has been moving quickly on the appropriate use of artificial intelligence and machine learning and their applications in healthcare and biomedical research. They can assist providers in their work. They can characterize the mechanisms of human diseases and conditions. And they can converse with patients. I'll present examples of the current state and how we got here, as well as some ideas on the future with an aim toward answering the question of whether computers have gotten smart in biomedicine.
